Plan ยท Getting Here

Getting Here

Way up in northern Wisconsin, where the snow’s real and the crowds aren’t.

Getting Here

The remoteness is the point

Whitecap sits in the Penokee Range in Iron County, far enough north to catch the full force of Lake Superior’s snow. Point the car north and watch the towns get smaller and the snowbanks get bigger.

Flying In

Airports, nearest to farthest

Ironwood (IWD)

Gogebic-Iron County Airport is just 30 minutes out, with daily commercial flights to Chicago O’Hare and Minneapolis. The easy way in.

Duluth (DLH)

About two hours out, a larger airport with more carriers and rental cars at the terminal. A solid middle ground.

Minneapolis (MSP)

The major hub option, about four hours by car, and the drive north is half the fun.

Bring the whole crew
