Summer & Fall ยท On the Water
On the Water
You’re never far from a shoreline up here. Cast it, paddle it, or sit beside it and do nothing at all.
On the Water
More water than you have weekends
A lake right at the resort, the Gile Flowage full of fish down the road, trout streams running in every direction, and Lake Superior twenty minutes north. Cast it, paddle it, or just float around doing nothing in particular. Pick your water and we’ll point you to it.
Weber Lake
Out the door and onto the water
The resort’s own water, right out the door. Walk down with a paddle or a fishing rod and you’re on it in minutes, no loading up and driving anywhere. Slow morning laps, an evening swim, a few casts before dinner. The Wine Hut sits right on the shore when you’re ready to dry off.
The Gile Flowage
Wild shoreline, scattered islands, nobody around
Thousands of acres of water, islands, and quiet bays a few minutes down the road. Bring a kayak, a rod, or a boat and disappear for the afternoon. Big enough to lose the crowd, close enough to be back for dinner.
Rivers & Streams
Easy water, easy days
Cold, clean water runs all through this country. The Tyler Forks ranks among the best trout streams in Wisconsin, and it’s far from the only one. Plenty more worth wading into for the fishing, or worth a paddle if you’d rather just float. Bring waders or bring a boat. Both work.
Lake Superior
Great Lake, short drive
Twenty minutes north puts you on the largest freshwater lake on the planet. Saxon Harbor, Little Girls Point, and Black River Harbor are all close by, with the Apostle Islands and the Porcupine Mountains within reach when you want a bigger day. Beaches, big-water fishing, and sunsets that make the drive look like nothing.
The Basecamp
Stay where the water is
All of this water fans out from one place. Weber Lake is out the door, the Gile Flowage and the streams are a few minutes off, and Lake Superior is a short drive north. Stay at the resort and you’re never reaching far for any of it.
Paddle in the morning, fish the afternoon, dry off back at the room, and do it all again tomorrow. The water isn’t going anywhere.
Bring the whole crew
Reunions, bachelor parties, fishing crews: bring the group and we’ll handle the rooms and point you to the best water for the weekend.
The Trails
Hiking & Biking
The Penokees on foot or on wheels, straight from the resort.
