The Wine Hut
Wood stove. Hot wine. Ten below outside and you don’t care.
On Weber Lake
Where the real Whitecap happens
The Wine Hut sits on the north side, right on the shore of Weber Lake — a square-hewn log cabin, the oldest structure in Iron County, with the wood stove going and hot mulled wine by the glass. Ski to it, sled in, or come across on snowshoes or XC skis. Skiers pull up with frozen beards and stories. Families warm up between laps. Nobody’s in a hurry to leave.
The Walls Talk
A museum you can drink in
Classic wood skis on the walls. Photos and newspaper clippings going back decades. An original trail map hand-drawn by Evie Lundberg, who built this mountain with her husband in the sixties. The Wine Hut doesn’t curate its history — it just never threw anything away.
This is where you will find the soul of skiing.
— David Dziuban, Owner
Someone once walked out and called it the heart of independent skiing. We liked that. We kept it.

The Ritual
Three reasons you’ll stay too long

The Fire
Wood heat, the real kind. The colder the day, the better it feels — and the days get properly cold up here.

The Warm-Up
Hot mulled wine, a cold beer, and hot cocoa — spiked, if that’s your thing. A bowl of chili, snacks to pick at, and stories included free.

The Cabin
Square-hewn logs older than the ski area itself. It has, reliably, the best vibe of any ski building you’ve been in.
No Snow Required
Summer and Fall at the Wine Hut
The Wine Hut doesn’t close when the snow melts. Come summer and fall, the deck opens to the lake — trade skis for an ATV, point most any vehicle down the rough, muddy two-track, or pull right up by boat or kayak. The road’s half the fun.
Same log walls, same cold drink, now with your boots in the grass on the shore of Weber Lake. When the Penokees turn gold, the ride out is worth it on its own.
Open Fri & Sat, noon–8 p.m.

Have the place to yourselves
Reserve the Wine Hut for a private group or event, summer or winter. In winter, we’ll get you out there — snowcat or otherwise. Weddings, ski clubs, birthdays nobody forgets.
